Altınoluk Travel Guide

Altınoluk is a holiday resort in the province of Balıkesir. It is very close to the province of Canakkale. Some of the famous goose mountains are located in this town.


Altınoluk is a region with its historical and natural beauties. There are many ruins, national parks, bays and beaches to explore.


There is a wonderful view of the village built on the foot of the mountain. Village coffeehouse welcomes many visitors every day. When you sit down in the village cafe, you will immediately come to your desk with ice-cold water filled from the natural source. The food and drinks are pretty cheap. Sipping your tea against the view is priceless.

There are minibuses to the village every half hour. If you go up, you can see the remains of the church where the first settlement began. There are plenty of fruit trees in the village roads. You can taste organic fruits. Don’t forget to take pictures with great views.


It is located on the village road. The theater built on the hillside is an ancient monument. Hundreds of outdoor concerts are held every summer. Many different kinds of music concerts are given, including famous rock bands, Turkish art music artists, pop singers.

From the architectural point of view, it can be called art work. You can have fun at the concert with your friends or family with a view of altınoluk.


The culture of shamans, the first settlers of the region, is still in this village. It is one of the cultures that continues to live today with its local clothes, unique ceremonies and dishes.

Turkey’s first private museum is located here. The wooden Museum of Ethnography continues to receive visitors today. After finishing the borders of altınoluk, you should see the village located in Gure.


The fish market, which has become one of the icons of altınoluk, has a great atmosphere. Coastal fishing and boat fishing and the fish kept one by one are very nutritious and organic. There are a few fish restaurants in the market. If you want to have a nice dinner at sea, you should visit the fish market.

At the entrance of the market there is an aquarium that is displayed for a while. In the aquarium, sometimes small sharks sometimes have giant vats. These animals are put on the hook for a certain period of time and then released back to nature.

Altınoluk pension prices per night between 120 lira and 200 lira.You can also find daily and weekly rental houses in altınolük. You can stay between 200 lira and 250 lira per day during your bargain.

It is possible to stay free of charge in altinkum. You can take your tent and camp in the goose mountains.


For transportation to altınoluk, you can choose whether to fly, bus or your own vehicle.If you want to reach Altınoluk by plane, you should buy a plane ticket to Edremit airport.

Then you will have to get to Edremit County with the taxis there. You can come to Altinoluk by a 40-minute minibus ride from Edremit.

You can also reach Altınoluk by intercity buses. The bus station in the heart of altınoluk is very easy to reach.You can also transport with your own car.

If you are going to come from the Marmara region, I suggest that you do not prefer the Çanakkale road. The road is quite winding and rough. It is possible to reach altınoluk here as well.
